Here at Heure Bleue Palais we are justly proud of coastal Essaouira’s colourful heritage and its intrinsic links with hinterland and region. Bringing it all together we have created a unique Argan oil journey – a very personalised 3 day journey including a trip to a working cooperative, an Argan based Hammam ritual in our Petit Spa and as ‘pièce de résistance’, a dedicated menu and cooking class with our Head Chef Ahmed Handour, celebrating Argan oil as a terrific taste enhancer, discovering why it has a firm place in traditional and modern Essaouiran cooking, plus the introduction to his signature dish: Royal chocolate & crispy ‘Amlou’. - Day 1
- Airport transfer, welcome & meeting your contact at the Concierge desk
- Cocktail & VIP welcome in your room
- Guided visit of the Medina – Essaouira’s old town – 2-3 hours
- Dinner: Essaouiran lobster & Argan oil
- Day 2
- Breakfast – discover the Berber speciality ‘Amlou’,
- served with goats’ cheeses & traditional ‘1000 hole’ & ‘Msmem’ pancakes
- Morning: Visit the Assaisse Ouzeka women’s cooperative and presentation of traditional Argan oil production; opportunity to purchase Argan products
- Afternoon: Heure Bleue Palais’ Petit Spa Hammam ritual using Argan oil products, then relax with a cup of Heure Bleue Palais’ tea infusion
- Day 3
- Breakfast served on our patio
- Morning: Visit to the local spice souk with Chef – approx. 1 hour
- Afternoon: Special ‘all about Argan’ menu with Chef Ahmed Handour*
- Choose from 1 amuse-bouche, 3 starters, 3 mains, cheeses, 2 desserts
- Cooking class - preparation of 2 chosen dishes, followed by dinner at 8pm: enjoy your prepared dishes
